A couple of things:
1. Karbonic is right on the mark when he said The Force Awakens is Episode 4 redone but with a larger budget and when he says the plot gives the audience no reason to root for or to oppose anyone.
2. Karbonic also considers that George Lucas would've done a better job making a new Star Wars movie. Well, glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks so.
One last thing: If you go to rottentomatoes.com you will notice that right now the professional critics are giving the movie a HIGHER rating than the audience, which is just impossible. That only happens with serious, artsy-oriented films.
That makes me think the professional critics are saying the movie is good without actually believing it. The question is, did Disney pay them to give it a good review? Or maybe Disney didn't pay anyone. If that was the case, then it feels as though Disney cherrypicked the critics so the majority would be critics with an inclination to like just about anything. Because it is simply not believable at all to see a Star Wars movie with better ratings from the critics than from the audience. Specially when the movie is as terrible as it is.
Oh, and by the way: the reason I believe right now the audience is giving The Force Wakens a high rating is because only the hardcore fanboys have seen it. Lets see how it does in a week.
PS: Dear George Lucas; THANK YOU for having NOTHING to do with this movie. Your artistic integrity and your legacy will always be impecable.
