A Mexican student was arrested duringthe Nobel Peace Prize ceremony becuase he protested peacefuly by showing a Mexican flag with blood stains right in front of the winner of this year's price, Malala Yousafzai.
Several security guards pushed student Adán Cortés right after he asked Malala to do something for Mexico, as the Mexican government headed by Enrique Peña Nieto is responsible for the disappearance and death of 43 college students in the state of Guerrero.
But Malala said nothing. She simply stood there, holding in her hand what amounts to a certificate for 8 million dollars from the Swedish government.
Thus, an organization that awards prices for peace efforts resorted to violence and censorship against a peaceful student, and the winner of the award, a teenager who claims to fight for education, did nothing and said nothing about it.
Adán Cortés showed the world not just the urgency for attention to the horror permitted by Enrique Peña Nieto in Mexico, but he also showed the Nobel Peace Prize is, at least this year, and for all practical purposes, a farce.
What's even worse, the media participated in that farce by pretending nothing happened.
One can only guess Malala is such a profitable product for the media, that they didn't dare to show the ugly reality that took place at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.
It is a dark day for peace.
